What I had written wasn't true.It wasn't written in the pursuit of truth, it wasn't science.
It was Journalism. Magazine journalism, whose ultimate standard is readability.
- Ian McEwan, "Enduring Love"
It's not often that I come across quotes like these, no doubt trashy, but with an ounce of truth.
The truth that sometimes I am writing for the sake of writing, writing to be read, but not to inform or regardless.
There sometimes, I lose my soul when I'm writing, and I write for the sake of writing, express for the sake of grades.
Because writing has turned into something else in my life - and it's not about the pursuit of truth in words anymore.
I have this feeling I'm heading down a darker, deeper tunnel.
Show me the light my friend.
