WHEEEEEEEE.

.
Our faces now.

The Impossible.

it does not that a genius to figure out that I talk too much.
Does that put you off?
Can you find peace in the noise I make? Will you?
Because that is a facade, and beneath that, you will find a much quieter girl.
Someone who will sing you a lullaby if you ask for it, and say nothing more.

..

The drumming noise inside my head has stopped.
Every glance used to kill me, every scent, every sound.
It used to eliminate my existence altogether.
Now i embrace the silence, awkward moments and the impossible.
me and you.
and the impossible.

The drumming sound used to make such an almighty sound.
It used to be sweeter than heaven and hotter and hell.
Now it has faded into a melody that blends softly into the background.

Under unexplained circumstance, will we meet again somewhere else and have renewed interest in each other?
I hope not.
Have a safe trip.

Fave pic of CHA, BING and TONG

its the meaning behind the picture, spontaneous moment, chemistry, and a little bit of Mass Comm comfort.

A story to chase the monday blues away

I was doing my laundry and came up with this story.
Given my current obsession with "doing laundry in hall"...I cant say the idea is far fetch.

...

Girl meets boy in laundry room.
Girl meets boy in laundry room.
Girl meets boy in laundry room.
Girl meets boy in laundry room.
Girl meets boy in laundry room.
They start as laundry buddies and subsequent meetings result in a date, many conversations (resolving around laundry) and finally *ta-ta-ta-thang* gets together.

Of course the story ends with the boy proposing to the girl in a laundry room HAHAHAHA

...

running out of washing power.
welcome to my shit-ass domestic life that I share with myself.

Xmas and thereafter.

BINTAN WAS SUPER R&R!
Falling asleep on the beach, waking up to the calling of the ocean, smiling at the horizon and feeling the embrace of the wind.
Not to mention spending XMAS away from Singapore - oddly, that is a kind of relief to me.

and alot alot alot of fries and chicken wings ARGH...

and BOXING DAY was spent with BT's Julian.
The assistant Editor who constantly reminds me of my bad grammar but passion in Journ HAHAHAHAHAH

K Yap (the intern before me), Julian and I chilled out and talked about the good ole days.

I'm surprised by the lack of passion in journ in kids nowdays.

SUNDAY

“You can drive at 16, go to war at 18, drink at 21, and retire at 65. So who can say what age you have to be to find your true love?”
— One Tree Hill

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

In an instance, you were mine.

I wish everything could be that instant "snap snap".
More love, less heart break.

Guess I'm turning into the kind of person of the modern society.
Always needy, urgent, impatient and rushing off to the next nowhere.

Keaty and Xinyu

This says alot.
so much its hard to put it in words.
Their 21st this year was a milestone in my life as well.
So is this 1st photoshoot.

JOANNE

This is my fave photo of us this year.
Being out of hall and all. :)

....

Im picking out fave images of the year and blogging it.
Let's start with Joanne.

HAPPY 20th BING BING

This is one of the notable nights in my life.
Low-key, in the neighbourhood, fuss free, dressed-down and just plain comfortable.

Happy 20th Birthday Li Bing.

This is the girl who will go an extra 10 miles for a friend.
This is the girl who helped me to photocopy 40% of my notes in Mass Comm.
This is the girl who reassures me and calm my insecurities despite they fact that hers has roots way deeper.
This is the girl who proof reads my articles, especially the important ones.
This is the girl who compliments on-the-go, when needed.
This is the girl who reads and sings with me.
This is the girl who delivers a bucket of truthfulness and sincerity.
This is the girl who will laugh at everything and encourage me to try harder telling jokes.
This is the girl who is savouring life and doing everything I don't dare to do.
This is the girl who knows what it feels like to be hurt, and take care never to hurt someone else.
This is the girl who will never wear me down.

ROCK IT LI BING.

21st Dec 2009 was a good day for me because of you.
Along with the your birthday you brought along a tremendous amount of good luck into my life.

And being able to see Grace and Charissa - the most precious gifts Mass Comm has given me..
made me hold on to the night so much tighter.

After graduation, the seemingly boring birthday reunions have taken on a new meaning.
Evolving from senseless laughter to nights of light-hearted bonding.
These are truly moments that make up the most essential part of growing up.
discussions, plans and calculated/uncalculated risks.

Do well at work libing and grace.
Score like nobody's business charissa.

...

I haven narrated my life for awhile.
So today, while Rachael Yamagata plays in the background, let the words flow.

The morning was spent on the NIE Sepak Tekaw courts, rooting for a team that did not win.
My first Sepak game in my entire life, watching, taking pictures, cheering for a team of unknowns.
The amount of energy I had in my lungs at 9am in the morning - I should consider a job as a discipline mistress.
My voice can be heard from 10 miles away.

From 12 to 3pm, I lent my hands and feet to the inter-school volleyball game.
I was treated to a full blast of the afternoon sun.
Even SPF 50 coulden stop the sun's advances.
We won a game and lost another, and with some sort of luck, managed to get in the 2nd round.
Sadly, I'll be in Hong Kong while they take on the other engineering schools, and my participation will be missed HAHAH, or so I hope.

The end of the afternoon was also a start of a new friendship, or so I hope.
A long wait for the shuttle bus, and a long long walk from Hall 10 back to Hall 9.
At least now I know one person who needs to climb more stairs than me to reach his place in NTU.

Before leaving for the much anticipated birthday surprise for Li Bing, I went around delivering Xmas cards.
And as with every day I'm in the hall, I cant help but do laundry - a new hobby of mine.
On the way out of hall, I stopped by to chat with XS and Pelie as they played volleyball.
Bumped into my new friend from CS, made small talked with an msn-acquaintance and hopped on a train that made me dizzy.
Holding "Norwegian Wood" in my hands and anticipating a birthday surprise, I felt that once again, I have found my place in the world.

A tall influence.

You don't have to be Brad Pitt, Gerard Butler or George Clooney.
Trust me, you can still sweep her off her feet.
Use your charm, you have a strange one you know.
Use it.
A long distance relationship, don't run away from it.
Start it.
Nurture and nourish it.

.....

One day, I'll tell you this.
So you can go ahead and make her heart yours.
I'll be greeting that day with a smile.
I'm not her, but somehow what makes you happy makes me happy too.
Strange.
This is your influence over me.

harder.

Does this make sense to you, cause it sure does to me.
Take a moment.
Feel your heart.
Hopefully yours is not as hard as mine.

Girl with pearl earring.

Something to think about.
A modern classic.

you've lost me.

You lost something amazing, and you might never ever find out.
Yeah, you've lost me.
my respect for you.
and that special something about you that I hold close to my heart.
It's a pity.
you've lost me.
you've lost me.
you've lost me.
you've lost me.
you've lost me.

Bet your life will suck after this.

3.17AM - after MCD

My mind is on an auto -loop.
images from these few days.
the following is highly incoherent.
No, Im not a needy little girl.
I don't need a reply for every question I ask (it would be good to get a reply thou)
I don't think we live in a polite society
and yes, I think there is a need to be critical.

I'm thinking and re-evaluating my primary group, my social networks and my life.
It is, after all, the end of the year.

Writer's Block.

I'm hanging around in hall like so kind of idiot, trying to finish up "loose ends".
...

I've been holding on to a simple 500 word write-up for investiture 2009 for far too long.
It would have been a valid case a year ago, when I still wrote relatively slow.
But Uni has made me a fast writer.

I can't help but wonder if there is even a need to write it.
I'm pretty sure it has already been written.
But sometimes we just have to try our hardest doing something we enjoy.
Its strange that the committee asks for our commitment during the December holidays, and yet, we, or rather I, am rendered completely useless at that particular point of time.

Writing the piece is painful.
Writing it reminds me of how I was full of anticipation for that night of wonder, called "investiture" for a reason.
and all I got was cold hard stares, fluffed-out-of-the-word conversations and a truckload of cold food.
The mug was a saving grace, which reminds me, where is it now???

Mid-terms for COM207 ended that day - such a release right?
But the only thing I remembered was the MSN chat with Mr Floopy till 4am the next day.
and perhaps offending a particular someone.
The investiture was the start of a string of horror in Hall 9.

I have to come to terms with this.
I don't fit in no matter how much I try and it tires me out.
The holidays is a wake-up call. Seeing my old friends, it was a wake-up call.
That I dont need the possibly wrenched company available in this place.
Even the person I stick closer to, hey she's from a neighbouring hall.
There is my room and the volleyball court to warm my soul - and that's about it.

now now, It doesnt quite sound like I have writer's block does it?

unrequited love was a dress rehearsal.

I just realised how much we are like two pieces in a jigsaw puzzle that don't fit.

The things we never try.

J Mayer.

This is how a man should look like.
I 'subscribe' to this J Mayer site and the amount of gorgeous photos of him blows my mind.
Sometimes it can be so superficial.

Hold my hand in the darkness.

The song that's constantly on loop in my head - "I wanna hold your hand" by the Beatles.
Old Skool I know, and the reason this song has been playing in my head and heart is even stranger.

"He held my hand and I distinctly remember holding on his wrist. His wrist, I liked the size of his wrist. Yeah it's a weird kind of hand-holding I know, even for someone sober. He turned back to me during two intervals, assuring me he'll find a way out. He asked for my patience, and for me to just follow him. Hand-holding, together yet apart. As if he cared, as if it mattered, getting me out was a matter of life and death, as if. At that moment I was caught in a divide, and yet, at the same time heading for the light (literally). My heart has not been warmed by a stranger for such a long time. "

All in the name of night life.

It's strange that I murdered my sleep cycle the moment I was freed.
Night life has been, exciting.
No pictures to give a visual description, but night life has been fantastic, yes I'm on repeat mode.
And the best part of it is struggling to wake early in the morning for breakfast, and to continue this vicious cycle.

I realised when it comes to having fun, I've always been a night person.
(minus my obsession with breakfast dates!!!! which reminds me: mcdbreakfastontues needs work)

From Holland V to town, to Dempsey to sixth ave, these 2 weeks, it's almost as if I'm on the trail of a lost teen-hood.

..

Today I'm grateful for the 3 good men I have met.
All strangers, but all gave something intangible I could hold on to.
One gave assurance
One gave warmth (in terms of hot tea)
One gave speed.

Sometimes I am really grateful for the small details in life.

(Truly) Nothing good happens after 2AM

It's 5.39AM.
I can't sleep.
I had four shots and a strawberry Diaquiri last night.
Thank you Ling, Han, Tze and Ying
I still can't sleep.
Headache, checked.
Fatigue, checked.
Bursting liver, checked.

Spent 30 minutes reading "Memory Keeper's Daughter" - too good a book to put me to sleep.

So I turned to "How I met your mother"
Here goes the classic lines:
...
Robin: (to Barney) Those Kids are monsters, they are gonna eat you alive.
...
Ted: I did have more good sense than that, but after 2AM, my good sense was sound asleep.
...
Robin: Have you ever had one of those days where nothing monumental happens, and by the end of it you have no idea who you are anymore and what the hell you're doing with your life. Do you have one of those days?
...

The last one is my personal favourite, one that asks a question so simply and directly.
Good Night, or should I say good morning.

STRIKE TWO.

CAN GOD SEND ME A DECENT GUY THAT WILL ASK ME OUT FOR COFFEE INSTEAD OF CLUBBING.
PLEEEELEASE.
STRIKE TWO THIS YEAR.

My hobbies are: drinking coffee, reading and talking (among others, and clubbing is definitely not in top 20).

Besides, I hate getting drunk. I end up in the toilet and they'll barely be able to see me, much less communicate with me.

ARGH. and via a real convo please, not MSN.

Sandy's 20st at GastroBARRRRRRR

Just a few classics from that night.
We owe her a proper celebration - LIBING AND WENDY!!!!! TAKE NOTE.

Unglam Unglam Unglam.
I tried to dress like a lady.
did I mention I saw an over-turned frog struggling on the sidewalk? With it's polarbear-white belly smiling at me.
GOD I COULD HAVE DIED.
Sandy and I... there's so much I want to say about us, but lets not overanalyse everything.
Keep the good things the way they are.
HAPPY 20th BABY.

oh bother...wendy and sandy are both JAPAN-ing.
cant ROCKBAND the night awayyyyy

A jamieoliver nigellalawson floyd bobbiechin moment.

Blogging in the kitchen - a first.
Itunes blasting from the kitchen - a first, and a newfound joy.

It's strange being at home for more than 3 days in a row.
My soul has touched-base with books, free-online-streaming websites and cooking utensils.
I must say that trying to rip off the flesh of raw chicken is one hell of a laborious task.
Not to mention scary too, my thoughts went from "hell yeah I should be a vegetarian" to "poor chicken" to "ok, we've past 6.30pm, I'm too slow with the chicken".

So I had a jamieoliver nigellalawson floyd bobbiechin moment.
Marks and Spencer never fail to bring out the foodie in me la.

Bought linguine and carbonara sauce from M&S!!!! I did feel kinda cheated when I went to the nearby supermarket and realised that linguine costs only $2.50 a pack. In case you're wondering, I paid a bloody $6 bucks for it. NICE.

The pre-packed sauce is great, there's black pepper and bacon bits in it, but C'MON no one dumps this thing straight on the pasta right? It would be...cheap pasta.

In the spirit of creating a hearty homemade meal, I bought mozarealla cheese, full cream milk, chicken and egg (essential ingredients for REAL MADE-FROM-SCRATCH carbonara sauce) to add to the pre-made.

GARLIC - I swear I chopped up one planet worth of garlic for marinating and cooking.

The picture doesn't do the pasta justice I swear. Im not a fantastic cook but this pasta tasted similar to WARAKU's and I don't think I'll ever spent 20 bucks eating pasta there again.

Desert was Mixed berry yogurt with milk/fruit juice - a habit I picked up in Aussie 4 years back.

The brother and father enjoyed it.
I had the time of my life trying to cook the pasta, chopped garlic like mad (my hands still reek of garlic), slicing chicken and mixing the sauce.
So much so for not cooking for nearly 8 months.
Next up on the list - cheesecake, then maybe cookies or brownies.

All HAIL THE DOMESTIC GODDESS. (or so I think)
...

My heart takes a break as I overload my senses with distractions.
I don't wake up in the middle of the night with any more mysterious tunes in my head.
I stop holding my breathe as your image floats into my mind.
I sing with the intention of pleasing myself, no longer for another cause.
I read with a vengeance.
and I eat for pleasure, no longer just to pass time.
